A Yerevan address for generations
For more than five decades, Ani Plaza Hotel has welcomed guests to the heart of Yerevan. Over the years, the hotel has grown alongside the city, hosting generations of traveller, meetings, celebrations and cultural moments while remaining one of Yerevan’s established hospitality addresses.
More than five decades of hospitality
Ani Plaza Hotel opened its doors in 1970, beginning a hospitality story that has continued through generations of guests and a changing Yerevan. Originally operating as the Ani Hotel, it was part of the Intourist system from 1970 to 1991 and later reopened as Ani Plaza Hotel in 1999.
From its earliest years, the hotel welcomed visitors from Armenia and abroad and became a setting not only for stays, but also for meetings, cultural encounters and public events. Over the decades, its rooms and halls have hosted international guests, artists, musicians, athletes and participants in major events held in Yerevan.
Today, Ani Plaza Hotel continues that tradition, combining its long-standing place in Yerevan's hospitality story with the needs of today's traveller.
Part of Yerevan’s changing cityscape
Conceived during a period of major urban development in Yerevan, the Ani Hotel was designed by architects Eduard Safaryan, Feniks Darbinyan and Felix Hakobyan. The building became one of the city’s prominent new structures of its era, and in 1970 the hotel project received recognition from the USSR Architects’ Union.
A name rooted in Armenian history
The name Ani refers to the historic Armenian city that once served as the capital of the Bagratid Kingdom. From the hotel’s earliest years, that connection has formed part of its identity and is also reflected in its emblem.
Established history. A contemporary stay
Today, Ani Plaza Hotel offers 261 rooms and suites, flexible meeting and event spaces, dining and leisure facilities, and a range of services within the hotel. Its central location places guests close to many of Yerevan's cultural, business and dining destinations.
Ani Hotel is officially classified as a four-star hotel by the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
